This fall, rediscover Homecoming Weekend at Georgetown. 

Join fellow alumni, students, family, and friends as we celebrate the experiences and community that make us Hoyas. Come celebrate all your favorite time-honored traditions, including the Homecoming Tailgate, but with brand-new programming and events, including our first annual Homecoming Fall Fest (featuring the Georgetown University Farmers’ Market) on Friday, Sept. 20.

Homecoming Weekend is for  alumni, students, family, friends, Hoyas.

  • What is the cost of the tailgate?

    • $15 for attendees under 21 (through Wednesday, Sept. 18)
      • Price goes up to $20 for walk-in attendees
    • $20 for current undergraduate students over 21 (through Wednesday, Sept. 18)
      • Price goes up to $30 for walk-in attendees
    • $25 for all alumni and guests over 21 (through Wednesday, Sept. 18)
      • Price goes up to $30 for walk-in attendees
  • If I miss the advance registration for the tailgate, can I register at the door?

    Yes! While alumni, students, parents, and friends are encouraged to sign up in advance, registration will be available at the tailgate entrance. The cost for walk-in admission is $20 for those under 21 and $30 for those over 21.

    NOTE: Those over 21 will need to provide two forms of ID (including one government-issued photo ID) upon arrival at the tailgate.

  • What is included in my tailgate admission cost?

    The cost of admission includes unlimited Rocklands Barbeque, pizza, ice cream, alcoholic beverages including beer, cider, and, new this year, *hard seltzer* (for those with valid ID who are over the age of 21), non-alcoholic beverages, and activities/entertainment.

    No outside beverages will be permitted.

  • Will the tailgate still happen if it rains?

    All homecoming events will be held rain or shine unless otherwise noted. For the tailgate, a tent will be provided on the patio immediately adjacent to the Hariri Building.

  • How do I purchase tickets for the football game?

  • Do I need to be 21 to attend the tailgate? Is the cost the same for minors?

    All ages are welcome to attend the tailgate, but guests must be at least 21 years old and show valid photo identification (including birth date) to drink alcohol. 

  • What items are prohibited at the Homecoming Tailgate?

    Please note the following items are prohibited at the Homecoming Tailgate:

    • Outside beverages of any kind (including reusable water bottles, travel coffee mugs, etc.)
    • Pets
    • Large bags or backpacks
    • Smoking/e-cigarettes of any kind
  • How do I modify my registration?

    1. Log in to your registration portal using your first and last name, email address, and confirmation number (found in your original confirmation email).
    2. Once you are logged in, click the “modify” button located near the top of the screen.
    3. Click the “registration” link located to the right of your name.
    4. The next screen will list all homecoming events. Select the box next to any event you wish to attend. Once completed, select the “next” button.
    5. Repeat steps three and four for any guests you wish to include.
    6. Click the “next” button until you get to the payment screen.
    7. Once you have entered your payment information for any paid events you’ve selected, click the “finish” button.
  • How do I add a guest to my registration?

    1. Log in to your registration portal using your first and last name, email address, and confirmation number (found in your original confirmation email).
    2. Once you are logged in, click the “modify” button located near the top of the screen.
    3. Click the “add guest” button located below your name.
    4. Fill out your guest’s information and click “next.”
    5. The next screen will list all homecoming events. Select the box next to any event your guests wish to attend. Once completed, select the “next” button.
    6. You will then be back on the main “modify” page. Repeat steps three through five for any additional guests you wish to add, or click “next” to proceed to the payment page.
    7. Once you have entered your payment information for any paid events you’ve selected, click the “finish” button.
  • If I miss the advance registration for other Homecoming events, can I register at the door?

    Yes, but only if space is available. Check out the homecoming schedule online to see if events are sold out. Registering in advance saves you time and money!

  • What is the policy for cancellations and refund requests?

    Georgetown reserves event space, catering, and transportation services in advance to ensure that events run smoothly. Refunds for events and activities will be granted for written cancellations received on or before Friday, Sept. 6. Cancellation requests should be sent to advancementevents@georgetown.edu.

  • Where do I pick up my tickets for Homecoming events?

    No physical tickets will be issued for any homecoming event. Once you have registered and received your confirmation email, your name will automatically appear on a “pre-registered” list, which will be available at the door of that particular event. If you are attending the Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, you will be emailed a copy of your digital ticket with a QR code. Please have that QR code ready upon arrival to expedite check-in.

  • Can I bring non-alumni guests?

    Everyone is welcome to celebrate homecoming on the Hilltop, including non-alumni and friends of the university! All guests attending the tailgate are also required to show two forms of identification (including one government-issued photo ID) to enter. If you register online, you can register your guests and pay for their tickets in advance.

  • How can I find out more details about Traditions Day and other student-sponsored events?

    Student-sponsored events will be primarily organized in early September once students have returned to campus for the fall semester. When information becomes available, you’ll find it added to the schedule of events on the homecoming website. All authorized student events included on this website are individually managed by the student groups, and all questions should be directed to the individual contacts listed.

  • Which Corp services are open over the weekend and what are their hours?

    The following is a list of Corp services that are open during the weekend, and their respective hours:

    Friday, Sept. 20
    UG: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    MUG: 8:00 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Hilltoss: 9:00 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Midnight MUG: 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Snaxa: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
    Vittles: 9:30 a.m.- 1:00 a.m.

    Saturday, Sept. 21
    Snaxa: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
    All other Corp services are closed for the day.
