Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Other Homecoming Events

If I miss the advance registration for Homecoming events, can I register at the door?

Yes, if space is available. Check out the Homecoming schedule online to see if events are sold out. Registering in advance saves you time and money!

What is the policy for cancellations and refund requests?

Georgetown reserves event space, catering and transportation services in advance to ensure that events run smoothly. Refunds for events and activities will be granted for written cancellations received on or before Friday, October 20. We regret that we will be unable to refund fees after this date. Cancellation requests should be sent to advancementevents@georgetown.edu.

Where do I pick up my tickets for Homecoming events?

There are no tickets issued for any Homecoming events. Once you have registered and received your confirmation email, your name will automatically appear on the "pre-registered" list at the door of all events. If you are attending the Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, you will be emailed a copy of your ticket for this event with a QR scan code that you should have ready when you arrive to expedite check-in.

Can I bring a non-alumni guest?

Everyone is welcome to celebrate Homecoming on the Hilltop, including non-alumni and friends of the university. All guests attending the tailgate party are required to show one form of identification with a birth date in order to guarantee entrance. If you register online, you can register your guests and pay for their advance tickets. The walk-in price is the same for alumni, current students, and guests ($25).

How can I find out more details about Traditions Day and other student-sponsored events?

Student-sponsored events will be organized in early September, once students have returned to campus for the fall semester. When information becomes available, you'll find the schedule of events on the Homecoming website. All authorized student events that are included on this website are individually managed by the student groups, and all questions should be directed to the individual contacts listed.
